some of you seem perplexed as to my latest threads, i thought i would give you a little background.. .

about 3 years ago, amanda and i met up with an xjw elder here in knoxville.

it started out ok, but deteriorated rapidly.

JunctionGuy I honestly don't see the big deal people are making about this post, then again I haven't read the past posts so maybe I am a bit lost. I just wanted to bring one thing up...

JunctionGuy- Point is that while alot of people may say that "happiness is the best revenge" Their happiness came at great cost to those who loved them.

Isn't this the whole point of revenge that their happiness has come at great cost to the person they despise? Perhaps this man hated his wife and now she is tormenting because he is very happy. Also this man's happiness has caused you to be upset, so hasn't he in turn gotten revenge on you with this happiness? I could be completely wrong, just seems perhaps he was correct.

ex-soviet tajikistan outlawed the jehovah's witnesses religious organisation on monday, saying its missionary activities violated the laws of the predominantly muslim central asian state.. "door-to-door missionary activities, calls to refuse to serve in the armed forces and their intolerance of other religions contradict the law," tajik culture minister mirzoshohruh asrorov told a news conference.. jehovah's witnesses in tajikistan could not immediately be reached for comment.. according to official figures, more than 95 percent of the tajik population belong to the sunni branch of islam and another two percent are shiites.

the tajik government though is strictly secular.

I also am strongly against banning any religion. I don't care if you believe JW's are a cult or not, they should have every right to indoctrinate as much as the Muslims do.

savemysoul made a good point that i have heard often.

semi/full blow racist remarks are usually started off with "i'm not racist but..." then add some blanket statement afterwards.

so is racism now the new gay?

So is racism now the new gay? If you have some blanket statement why not just say it's your opinion and you could care less what people think. Now I am not encouraging racism but it's everyone's right to be as biased or unbiased as they feel. Of course I accept that I probably too have used the "I'm not a racist but..." it's just interesting how people seem to tip-toe over how they truly feel. So, any comments?

*edited to add- yes I am aware I pulled the "not encouraging racism" which is equal to the "not a racist" card......
